Skinny Switch Secret Diet

skinny-switch-secret-dietThe Skinny Switch Secret Diet is an online program that was developed by Rob Nevin who is a personal trainer and fat loss expert.

Nevin says that his program is not a diet but an eating plan that can be maintained over the long term as part of a healthy lifestyle approach to weight management.

Skinny Switch Secret Diet Basics

The basic structure of the program involves three days where you eat meals that are similar to that of the Zone Diet. Dieters eat three meals and two snacks daily that contain balanced amounts of protein, carbohydrates and fat.

Every fourth day is a cheat day where the calories and carbohydrates are a bit higher. On this day you are also allowed to have one treat food such as pizza or ice cream if desired.
The idea is that alternating the intakes of calories and carbohydrates jump-starts the metabolism and maximizes the fat burning ability of the body.

A unique aspect of the program is that a custom eating plan is developed for you individually. When you sign up you will be asked to enter your measurements and your weight loss goals.

You then will choose from a list of options the foods you would like to include or exclude from your plan. Many dieters will appreciate that they can include the foods they enjoy in their diet. If you have an intolerance to dairy products or nuts this can also be taken into consideration however this will greatly limit your meal choices.

You are also allowed to select your favorite choices from the meal options provided. This information is used to create your meal plan. Every meal in the plan comes with a recipe.

Each week a new meal plan will be created for you and a shopping list will be generated for you at the beginning of each week.

A custom fitness plan is also created for you that is based on your current level of fitness and exercise preferences.

Costs and Expenses

The Skinny Switch Secret program costs $154.70 for six months membership, which works out to $5.95 a week. A 30-day money back guarantee is offered if you are not completely satisfied with the program.

It appears that this program is no longer available.

Pros

  • Includes recipes and meal plans.
  • Does not require special foods.
  • No need to give up favorite foods.
  • Possible to stick with the program while eating out.
  • Program is customized according to age, gender and food preferences.
  • Cycling between low and high calories and carbohydrates can avoid metabolic slowdown, which often occurs on continual low calorie and low carbohydrate diets.
  • Includes an online support community which is associated with an increased chance of successful weight loss.
  • Money back guarantee if not happy with the program.

Cons

  • Requires a fair amount of time to be spent on food preparation.
  • Expensive in comparison to many other programs.
  • Meal plans appear to be lacking in an adequate amount of fresh fruit and vegetables.

Conclusions

Once the basic concept of the Skinny Switch Secret Diet is understood it would be very simple for dieters to construct their own meal plans. For much less than the cost of the program dieters could purchase several books and design their own program.

The main advantage to the Skinny Switch Program is the convenience of organized meal plans and shopping lists, which will save dieters a lot of time and energy.

I used this program 9 years ago and loved it! I lost 20 lbs in the first month. There were so many things to choose from (and I’m on the picky side as an eater), the recipes were simple and usually quick. I would love to do this program again but someone borrowed all of my print-outs and I haven’t been able to get them back 🙁 If any one else has done this and has any of the info and recipes I would greatly appreciate you for sharing them with me! janiece@hmvcpas.com Thanks!

My sister is on the Skinny Switch. She started in April and has already lost 40 lbs!!! She LOVES it and I’ve never seen her so happy. The best part for her is the “load-up day”. It’s the day that you get to eat one of your favorite foods and the rest of your meals are a little bigger. She never feels deprived of anything and there is a lot of flexibility in the meal plans (for time and taste!). If I had the money I would absolutely do it; since I don’t, I’ve been trying something that seems similar but is free. Sparkpeople.com. It’s not quite the same but still pretty cool. I’ll do the Skinny Switch as soon as I can get up the money.

I see alot of negative on here, I have been on the program a year now. I love Rob and I LOVE the program,I’m not sure were the one person is shopping for the food, Do you not have a food store? That is the only place you need to go, The cost.. you get 6 months free and more info and support than any other program out there, For the cooking time comment, Not sure how 5 minutes is so hard to do, and if it is you can also get those nasty frozen meals as well, Rob puts everything on the plan. Seems like the ones making the silly comments just enjoy being fat, SSS is the EASIEST and MOST supportive plan out there. I am living proof, you can even see me on the commercial because I did so well!

When I first read about the program it look good. So I ordered it. Did not print out the infomation till after a week.I work alot of hours. They make it look simple and it’s not. It took me 3 hours to do the food shopping. I called to get a refund and I was told it is past days and no refund. The 7 day refund is unfair it should be at least 14 days. I do not recomend this diet because it time comsuming. And most of all because of their refund policy.

Im seriously considering this diet program just want to know if people have had luck ? I don’t eat seafood not any kind in any way period would that be a problem ? I also don’t like veggies much esp tomatoes, broccoli, and such. I love beans, corn, nuts etc. Any advice would be great as I have been on a low cal diet and dropped 13 lbs but not an inch from my waist how it that ?

Just do what I do , Mother and I eat what the diet calls for and I fix basically the same for my husband but add a lot extras for him..For example if it calls for a chicken club sandwich, I use regular Mayo for him and add cheese and always make him two plus he eats potatoe chips with it, he is not fat so no diet for him…it is pretty easy to adjust the menu to fit your family..by the way he loves the sandwiches..I have been on it for two weeks and have lost 8 lbs..Yeaaaaaaa

And btw, I know they have the payments broken down into 4, but that is not doable for me either at this time. Weekly would be a great option for me, as things are touch and go, pretty much, right now.

I really do NOT do the whole meal planning thing at all. And boy do I need the coordinating shopping list. This is perfect for me. Only thing is they make you pay for the whole year up front. I could only do this program if they allowed me to pay on a weekly basis… or on a monthly basis. But a whole year up front is impossible for me at this time. I have read nothing but good reviews from people who have been on this program though and really want to try it for myself.

By the way, I had a recent major stroke and that is why there was so much mis-spelling in my last comment, it is also why I hope this product works and if it works I want to see others reap the beenifits before they go through what I had to suffer.

I’m sure the product is good but it would help me to see it on fox news as that is the only new reporting that I trust. It could reall help Glenn Beck, Bill O’Rielly and Sean Hannity. I love those guys and with all due respect, I’d like you to approack them and tell them about this product or one of the many girls they have reporting. Please do this. They are the largest watched cable news reporting station now. Thank you.

I have a question. On your sample listed above, it looks like
the menu you have is a low fat menu. I thought you could eat
your regular food on the first two days. The sample looked
    more like weight watchers.

I have divuticulits I can’t eat Nuts,Seeds,Popcourn,Corn, No fruit with seeds in it. I was just wondering is it worth it to go on this diet and not able to eat the things that they are telling me to eat. Or is there alteratives for me. I just don’t want to have any problems. Thank you so much.

Yes, but…part of what you are paying for IS the support the web site gives you, both in terms of menu planning and support. While SOME COULD build menus like this on their own, most CAN’T or WON’T or don’t have the TIME. My observation of fruit and vegetable portions is different. Plenty of fruit, agree not as many veggies as I expect. Overall, I have been on it for 4 months and have lost 3 inches from my waist and around 29 pounds. Couldn’t be happier and feel great.

I see you posted your comment in January of this year, are you still doing this program? I did it 9 years ago and am looking to do it again but can’t find it. Can you help me please? janiece@hmvcpas.com
