TrueStar Health is a large health portal. And by large - we mean huge. Just about every aspect of health is covered in this web site:

Natural health, health encyclopedias, sport specific training, even financial health! Food guides, drug interactions, herbal medicine, health symptoms and conditions. All content on the site is subscription-only. Considering the sheer amount of information, this is quite acceptable.

And of course, True Star run a Weight Loss Program.

TrueStar for Weight Loss

The TrueStar Weight Loss Program is comprised of two phases.

Phase I
A low-carb phase (called the Metabolic Booster Phase). In similar style to the South Beach Diet, this short phase aims for fast weight loss (4-5 pounds per week). Meal plans and an exercise program are part of the prescription.

Phase II
A more sustainable phase - this re-introduces carbohydrates - but only those that are low on the Glycemic Index (GI).

This holistic program also addresses other areas in your life - such as adequate sleep, appropriate vitamin supplementation, and the right goal-setting attitude.

TrueStar Kids

TrueStar also offer a program for children and teens (aged 2-18). This is one of the few Weight Loss sites to offer such a program.

The idea here is to provide healthy and interesting meal plans (that kids will actually eat), while aiming for sustainable and healthy weight. This program is not like the adult's program, and nor should it be.

Once again there is a holistic approach, that addresses everything from childhood illness, exercise programs, vitamins and minerals for children, and even "motivational" bedtime stories!

TrueStar Health - Summary

This is a weight loss program that seems similar to the recommended South Beach Diet. However - the South Beach diet is superior.

TrueStar appears to be a good healthy weight loss choice. The only question we have, is regarding weight loss supplementation. There is mention of certain supplementation being a part of Phase I, but we are unclear whether this is something you have to buy from TrueStar or elsewhere.
