HMR At Home

HMR At Home© is Health Management Resources healthy weight loss program, designed for self study. It involves no visits to health clinics, simply enrol in the program with a convenient provider, purchase meal replacement shakes, entrees and soup mixes online, have them delivered to your door (nationwide in the US), then follow the program for eating and exercise.

HMR has built a reputation over 20 years for providing high quality patient care along with weight loss results. Studies have shown that meal replacements such as HMR provide (shakes and entrees) are an effective tool for weight loss and ongoing weight maintenance (although they should not be considered a permanent way of life).

How HMR At Home works

The HMR At Home weight loss program follows the same approach as HMR's clinics nationwide - participants maintain a structured diet, keep records and share them with their weight loss coach on a weekly "accountability" call, as well as taking part in a weekly 45-minute facilitated group phone call for dieting support for the forthcoming week.

HMR Foods

Shakes, soups, and entrees range from 100 to 270 calories per serving, and can be combined with favorite fruits and vegetables for hearty meals. The plan provides a minimum of 1200 calories per day ensuring complete nutrition and including essential protein, vitamins and minerals.

An initial six-week “strong start” program is followed by additional four-week cycles as required for continued weight loss, then a minimum of three months of weight maintenance. Average weight loss of over 23 pounds or around 10% of initial body weight, can be expected in just under twelve weeks.

Daily Plan

The daily eating plan comprises 3 shakes, 2 entrees, 5 servings of fruits & vegetables, 8 glasses of water plus snack bars.

Breakfast Giant Mocha Shake - HMR Chocolate Shake with cocoa, instant coffee, and vanilla extract
Snack Vanilla Cream Shake - HMR Vanilla Shake made with diet cream soda
Lunch Potato Stew with Beef - HMR Vegetable Stew with Beef, with red potatoes, corn, broth, and seasonings (1½ serving vegetables)
Snack Cup of any fruit (1 serving)
Dinner “Roasted” Lasagna - HMR Lasagna with Meat Sauce, with roasted red peppers, zucchini, and tomatoes (2½ serving vegetables)
Snack Chocolate Rasberry Delight - HMR Chocolate Shake with sugar-free raspberry gelatin

Cost of HMR At Home program

All recommended supplies can be purchased separately, and/or use the 3-week Quick Start program. This has 3 shakes and 2 entrees (standard or lactose-free) per day for 21 days, plus diet support material including an eating plan, at a cost of around $280 including shipping charges.

A free recipe booklet is included with first order. Daily fruit and vegetable requirements for 5 servings are your responsibility, so add this cost to the average $13.35 per day for the quick start program.

A 2-week Healthy Shakes diet kit, no entrees included, is available for $90 ($100 for lactose-free), providing 54 shakes mixes or about 4 per day (costing roughly $6.65 a day).
